Holding on the tradition of music in the Society of Jesus, (see the first three posts), the Jesuit Music Ministry continues to be of service to God through music that appeals to the heart of contemporary society. And keeping the vision of the Communications Apostolate of the Philippine Jesuits, I have been given this task to care for the Jesuit Music Ministry. As JMM responded to Philippine liturgical needs since Vatican II, I believe JMM should respond to the needs of the present generation --- that is, the 20-year-old-and-below, who make up 51% of the Philippine population (McCann-Erickson Survey 2006). Hopefully, our music expresses the faith and hopes of the young, and our services respond to the poor in the Philippine Church.
